I'm a knitter and the only thing I know about crochet is how to make a chain (at least I think that's what it's called - I can start with the loop and make a chain of stitches from there). I want to make a crocheted drawstring for my knitted shorts. What do I do to make a nice, round-like drawstring, thick enough to be a drawstring but not flat?
I've followed a couple of tutorials thinking a double chain or half double chain would give me what I want, but that's actually just making a flat fabric. That's not what I want. I want a chain, but thicker than what a "chain" typically is. Any advice? I'm using a G size hook, since that's what I have, and worsted weight wool.
