I haven't been knitting for very long and I am knitting a scarf at the moment which I have a slight problem with. Part of it is knit is garter stitch with two rows of one color and then two of another ... with four colors so there are six rows between one color. I don't want to have to cut the yarn each time I change color because I would have too many ends to sew in but I don't know how else to do it. I have tried taking the yarn up the side but I end up with lengths of yarn that don't fit in with the other colors.
Is taking the yarn up the side the only way? Or is there a different way??
