It was GREAT TO KNOW THAT YOU'RE FROM LANCASHIRE :cheering: :cheering: :cheering: Chuffed!
I'm a Pie and it's also great that you've joined this site, so that sometimes I can speak English to someone - I can carry on saying 'shop' instead of 'store' and 'wool' instead of 'yarn' and holding a long knitting needle under my arm won't seem so crazy to you.
So, let's see - there's you, me, AmandaC, Mulene, Fluffy Pechey - that's at least five of us Brits :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
If we carry on at this rate, we'll soon have the Americans outnumbered - five of us and only 5,000 of them.
I don't know about your relatives being brilliant knitters but you ain't doing too badly yourself, turning out Ganseys and socks - nearest I get to a woollen sock is BHS.
Anyway, I'll stop wittering, except to say that you needn't worry at all about getting the hang of this site (some of us have been trying for years and ain't cracked it yet) - the only thing not to do is to sit there with a knitting problem and not ask for help on here.
Everybody tries to help each other and if they don't know the answers, they will point you in the direction of someone who does.
Happy Knitting and Welcome again!
All the Best
