today, many crochet hooks have mm sizing use 1 size larger than your knitting needle size. (so if you knit with a size 7, (4.5mm) use a size 8 (H) hook
if you have a bunch of crochet hooks and they don't have mm sizing,
use a needle gauge to find a hook one size bigger than your needles.
Binding off (regular or fancy (crochet 3together, chain 3( or more) crochet 3 tog, chain...) with a crochet hook is one way to get a very even edge to a bind off!
If you knit/crochet loosely, you might not need to go up 1 size, but many crochet a bit tighter than they knit.. so try the larger size first..
