When finishing a neckline or bottom of sweater at the end of a rib, and you BO, do you stay in the rib pattern IE: k1, BO, P1, BO OR do you just knit all the BO's?
YesI have cast off in pattern and I have just cast off all in knit and honestly I cannot tell the difference btwn the two
I'm just finishing up on my second sweater and I did the k1,p1 BO and what a pain! I like doing just straight k BO so maybe I'll do that on the next sweater I do.
It did come out a bit wavy - did I do something wrong?
Binding off in rib can be a hassle (especially if you knit continental style) but I think it looks better to do so. Binding off is only the passing of the one stitch over the other, otherwise it's exactly like knitting another row, so you'd stay in pattern.
Darby, maybe you did too tight of a bind off. That might make it wavy.
Binding off in rib can be a hassle (especially if you knit continental style) Suzeeq, I've never noticed it to be a problem and I'm a Continental knitter.
Depends on how you purl; some conti knitters have trouble with the yarn in front getting in the way of passing the stitch over.
