Does anyone know what a bar increase is? Is it increasing after each marker?BarbaraG67
Kfb is commonly referred to as the 'bar' inc as it creates a slight 'bar' at the base of the st.
If you go to Videos>Increases you'll see it.
or you can go to diy network.com and type in Knitty gritty in the search area. they have a video showing a few differernt increases. The video is called increases for beginers step by step it has the bar increase video in that segment.
You would pick up the bar that is between the stockinette stitches. You can either pick that "bar" up from the front or from the back of it depending on wether you want to slant it to the left or right.
checking out the videos will help.
That's called a lifted bar increase sometimes, usually known as a M1 L or R. Mostly a bar inc is the KFB.
when you look in between 2 stitches you will see a line of yarn you pick that up with your left needle and knit or purl in the front of the stitch if you do it from the back you will have a hole. it's the most invisible increase that i have found so far.
